It has come to the band's attention that Joe's is giving people false information (AKA lies) via e-mail and the phone about the cancellation of the band's show this Friday, October 8th.
The band would like to clear the air with the truth for their fans, so here goes.
First of all, the show was 100% canceled by Joe's, NOT by the band. Specifically it was canceled by a guy named "Ed" who books for Joe's. Ed, being the "professional" he is, didn't even have the class and courtesy to call the band himself to tell them they had to cancel, he had some underling at the club do it. And when Ralph and Scott tried to contact him by phone to find out what had happened, this class act didn't even bother to call them back. A few days later he half-assed some e-mails to both of them. Gee that's wonderful.
Now of course, being that the cancellation was basically last minute, the band, besides losing the money of the show, also lost hundreds of dollars trying to change their flight reservations into Chicago. See Ed, in case you didn't know, the band actually has to pay to fly to Chicago out of their own pocket, and actually make flight reservations beforehand. When you change your tickets last minute like that, it costs money. That's usually how that works you dope.
So why would the band cancel a show, after making reservations and then losing money on plane tickets and a show? Does that make any sense whatsoever? Add to that, the band's private show this Saturday is in Peoria, two hours from Chicago. If they're already going to be in Illinois anyway, why would they cancel the show at Joe's on Friday? Is the band in the business of losing money? Does any of this seem logical at all? Of course not, you'd have to be an idiot (Ed) to think the band canceled out on Joe's. They did not, and the club is lying. Plain and simple.
So next time, Ed and Joe's, if you think there are no reprecussions for lying to people on the phone and via e-mail, try again. Thankfully this web site exists for the Punks to call-out shady promoters and club bookers like yourselves, who try to pass themselves off as the good guys, and putting blame on the bands. What a crock, and a joke, much like your bumbling operation. Oh and just to clear this up for Joe's since they so hoped the band would return in 2005 to the club. They WILL NEVER be performing there again, ever.
If you're interested in talking with Ed, feel free to call him at Joe's Bar at 312.337.3486. Or better yet, call him on his cell phone at 312.493.8051. I'm sure he'd love to hear from all of the hardcore Atomic Punks fans who were lied to by the club.

Well could have sworn Scott said Peoria to me, but maybe he just confused his "P" cities. If you're going to this private event, I'm sure you know where it is. The band does too, they'll be there.
