So here is the thing. I haven't seen the new guitarist/old bassist perform yet but I will on the 26th (I'll be wearing a no sleeve VH jean jacket). I was just wandering about the veteran. He is an amazing performer. Blows my mind I tell ya. One night they mad him take a half-plastic-cup shot of Jack and he had to play the rest of the show in "THE CONDITION" but he pulled through! That was actually at his last show in the whiskey before he left to play for DLR! I saw the DLR and SH show and that just made me realize that the guy worked hard and deserved all the glory. Truly an amazing dude!

I am not getting in to a debate over who better Atomic Punks tribute band guitarist is/was
...but if you are talking about the "veteran" then the guitarist who helped form the Atomic Punks was Bart Walsh, and he also left to tour with David Lee Roth. Bart was also the lead guitarist for the Atomic Punks for a longer time than Brian was, and Russ has been (so far)...
...all three of the Atomic Punks lead guitarists have been amazing!

I had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Brian Young play a few months ago...And I have to say he was incredible...But I am sure the new guitarist is great also...Especially since the Atomic Punks is the best Tribute Band in the world, they would only have the best guitarists.
