Since I didnt see anything on the M Shop site, I will ask here. Do Russ and Ralph permit video to be shot of the MS shows? Most clubs around the tri-state area dont have a problem as long as its kewl with the bands. I have good MPEG vids of Jackyl-Firehouse-Quiet Riot- and Thin Lizzy(with John Sykes)and Id love to add Ms to that stellar list. And I can burn you guys a copy on cd if ya want..
I shoot on the bigger 320 by 240 size so the vids come out pretty clear on Windows Media Player 9. Eats memory like crazy but thats what extra sticks are for.. Do you ever post MS pix on the AP site. If so I can shoot a bunch and upload them to the site.
I shoot pix and video for our local 80's tribute band Bad Hair Day and Id like to see how they compare to the Shop..

For your comparison to Bad Hair Day, there are some Metal Shop pictures and video clips on Albert's Metal Shop webpage [Smile]

BTW, I think Ralph has already answered that it is okay that you film either the Atomic Punks or Metal Shop [Thumbs Up!] They would probably just appreciate a copy of the video for their use/review.

Also, I have a pro-shot DVDR of the Atomic Punks from a couple years ago that is pretty cool (different band lineup) and several Atomic Punks VHS videos, but have never been able to get a full Metal Shop video [Cry]

Also, as a side note, I would also clear it with the club where they're performing just to be safe. Make sure you tell them you have the band's permission. Not every club will allow to film bands, local or not. For instance, in Hollywood you have to pay a "house fee", which is essentially a bribe that goes into the manager's pocket. They'll give you a receipt to make it look official.

That happened to me when I filmed The Punks at The Whiskey a few years ago, and I was assured by the club's management that was standard with *every* club. When I told them that wasn't the case in San Diego or any other city I had filmed The Punks in, they told me, "Well, this is Hollywood."
