I was listening to the Mark and Brian interview the punks did awhile back and noticed during Ice Cream man that Ralph says "one pound vanilla, dixie cups...". Well I never really knew what Dave said before dixie cups, so I hit the web looking for the lyrics. Well, that only made matters worse as I found two other versions "I got good lemonade, ah, dixie cups" and "I got puddin' pie, banana dixie cups" (?). I've listen to the song several times today and none of them seem to really fit, although Ralps's version seems closest. Any idea what the real lyrics are or does Ralph have it right? =)

oh my, CVA, you raise an interesting point. I don't know if it's being a "Punks" fan, but I always thought it was "one pound vanilla, dixie cups" as well. But now, due to your post, I decided to look the lyrics up as well....and I got even MORE variations. LOL
I found the ones you found - as well as (and I think this one's hilarious):
"I got gum ball in the middle, ah, dixie cups"
I will say that the main one I found was the "lemonade" one, but I don't really know how we can mistake "lemonade" for "vanilla".
I'm sure some of the "die hard" VH fans know the answer.

I always thought it was "one pound vanilla, dixie cups..." also. On VH's official it says "I got puddin' pie, banana dixie cups...". Who knows... I'm listening to a DLR boot right now though from his Vegas show days. And it sounds like he is saying the puddin' pie banana line.

Man....I never realized how utterly INAUDIBLE that is...
I always thought it was "one pound vanilla", but after all the other possibilities mentioned...I think all, except "Lemonade" are conceivable.

Well it's Dave so who the hell knows? Original lyrics may not mean much, he probably sang it different anyway? Much like whatever he's singing on Everybody Wants Some. Ralph's done as good a job as anybody could transcribing the lyrics.

Should be:
"I seen a lotta people lookin' for a moonbeam..."
Like I said, it SHOULD be that, although it's not necessarily the case
