OK, no one has addressed this tragedy yet, and it's been on my mind heavy all day today. I'm sure most know about what happened to Pantera's guitar player (Dimebag Darrell) on Wednesday night. Well, it's almost as sad for me as when Randy Rhoads and Stevie Ray died. He was an incredible guitarist and it's an unbelievable tragedy what happened to him.
I saw Pantera headline the Santa Monica Civic Center back in the early 90's (Far Beyond Driven Tour). It was one of the tightest/sickest shows I've ever seen. They were such a great band, he was such a GREAT guitar player.
Ralph and I talked today and he said that Darrell came out to Metal Skool 2 weeks in a row this past summer and hung out with the band.
Anyway, please, everyone say a prayer for the families of all of the victims on Wednesday night. I can't imagine what the drummer must be going through seeing his own brother get shot onstage right in front of him like that.
Unbelievably sad....

I agree with you Joe this has got to be so tragic for Vinnie Paul and his family. This is just so unimaginable.I was a big fan of Pantera and saw them 4 times live.I am still in shock over this,as i am sure everybody else is.I have been on KNAC's web site for all the latest. R.I.P. DIMEBAG DARRELL

Yes, I keep thinking how I would feel if my sis was cut down right in front of me. I would feel helpless and yet guilty at the same time. Even though there was nothing he could have done, I bet he feels that way......you just feel so protective of family.

Chad Dyer coded the site for me, worked with Dimebag. He shot these on 11/19 in Minneapolis.

How I'd like to remember him....Rockin' out.
