David Lee Roth was the guest talk show host on FM radio 97.1 KLSX in Los Angeles on 2/4/05. For a change, he was taking a lot of random topic phone calls during his three hours on the air.
Frustrating technical difficulties prevented me from recording during the first 45 minutes, but I was able to get a lo-fi recording of the rest of Dave's appearance. I'll edit my limited recording to put to CD, but if anyone else has a more complete recording of this please contact me at albertr@albertr.com
My Atomic Punks web page now has a download link for a clip of my phone call to David Lee Roth where I mention the Atomic Punks, and his response is quite flattering to the band
Unfortunately I got cut off right when I was going to ask if there was a chance he'd ever sing a song with the band, since his last two guitarists had come from the band Oh well, it was still cool to talk to him. My buddy Jeff also called in and you can also download his phone call to Diamond Dave.

Nice job, Albert!
Man...I drove back from L.A. that night and had no idea DLR was on KLSX! That would've made for a much better drive back home to San Diego than the crap I was listening to on KLOS.
Did you manage to record the entire show, btw?

I didn't record the whole show, but someone on the VH yahoogroup was nice enough to hook me up yesterday with a recording containing all of Dave's segments, edited down to two MP3s of about an hour each
I haven't listened to the entire show yet but I'm glad I got it to help pass the time on long drives
I listen to KLSX quite often and still didn't hear about Dave's upcoming guest appearance until Jeff called me and mentioned it. He heard about it from the same VH yahoogroup, but since I only get daily summaries I wouldn't have noticed it until it was too late to tune in (and call).
Jeff was also responsible for prodding me to call in to the show. I wasn't planning on it since I have so many questions I'd want to ask DLR about, but he suggested the Punks which is an easy topic for me to discuss
