Just read the news. Really sorry to hear about Russ leaving the band.
RUSS you are awesome, and best of luck wherever you are off to next. You will be missed!
Will Russ still be with Metal Skool?
Damn shame...

`Russ and the Atomic Punks should not be parting ways. The amazing chemistry between Ralph and Russ can not be duplicated. The show just won't be the same without him.

Yeah, Russ was cool. I wonder if he'll still be in Metal Skool. He's been with Ralph for a long time. I think it was even Russ that was in that Disco band Ralph used to be in. I could be wrong though. Maybe they can get Brian Young back. DLR ain't touring anymore. He's a little preoccupied with his other gig.

Oh, man...this blows! Hope the guys parted on good terms. That's really too bad. I'd like to see Brian return to the fold, rather than go with someone new. Good luck, guys, and thanks 100x to Russ for all of the kickass shows I saw with him in the Punks and Metal Shop/Skool.

Best of luck to Russ.
I imagine the traveling with his 2 kids has been tough. Metal Skool has been going really well and adding new traveling show, meaning Russ was home 1 or 2 nights a week at most.

Do you think if I started practicing tonight I could be in the band? By the way does anyone have a guitar I can borrow?

Best of luck to Russ and the Punks for finding a suitable replacement. Finding someone to pull off every aspect of what Russ brought to the table is next to immposible. There are just certain qualities like personality and chemistry that can't be re-placed. I am confident however that the Punks will find a suitable replacement. Russ isn't the first or last guitar player for the Punks, and the Punks are NOT going to settle for second best either. As far as Russ leaving Metal Skool, I can't imagine that being the case at all. Anyway, good luck Russ, you will be missed!

This is definetly a big bummer. The first time I saw Russ and the Punks 3 years or so ago made me feel like a kid again.
In fact, Russ blew me away with his playing. To the point it made me pick up my guitar again after 15 years (played a short while when I was younger but never stayed with it) and now I am doing pretty good with it these days.
For me, still on the learning side of playing the guitar, each time I see the Punks, Russ would just inspire me to get better. I hope that I have a chance to catch him in what ever he decides to do next.
As for the Punks, I will still make every show I can, they will rock on, and I will still be a part of that.
Peace Russ!

Extreme amounts of travel stops being fun after a while, especially once you start having kids.

To echo everyone else, I wish Russ nothing but the best and I hope he left on good terms. He is extremely talented with a great stage presence. Hopefully, his band takes off. That song Cocaine and Cavier should have been a hit, but maybe the timing was not right. Good luck to Russ in the future. You have a fan for life.
