To those of us who have been rocking the Punks for a long time know the exceptional talent of Russ Parrish. He is the only guitar player I have seen with the punks and I am so accostomed to his unbelievable talent that I really can't imagine a replacement even coming close to his EVH abilities. I hope I am wrong as we booked them for our Classic Rock festival on July 16 n Ojai. I will see them soon and give my feedback on the new guy.

This is by no means a slight at Russ, who is a very talented guitar player, but yes, he is replaceable in the Punks. Brian was a better guitarist with the Punks that Russ IMHO. Russ is a great player and I hope he is successful in whatever he does, but I think that the band will be able to continue on with a new guitarist if they take their time and find a player who can not only play the parts (there are millions of them), but can be a good fit personality and performance wise with the rest of the band.
On happier note, I can't wait to see the band again on the 25th at the Marquee.

Well, apearently they have already found a likely candidate but they have given no information on the guy and that worries me only because if it was someone really good they would most likely give a link to some of his work. I would imagine atleast.

Ralph said he was from Dallas, Texas. That's all I need to know (for now).

I don't know why everybody is so worried about it. When I first started seeing the Punks almost 10 years ago, and Bart Walsh left the band, I didn't think they'd find somebody as good to replace him. Then Brian Young started playing and I thought he was better. Then Brian left the band and I didn't think they'd find somebody as good. Then Russ came along, who I thought was even better. So, I'm not saying the newest guy will be better than all of them, but I trust Ralph, Scott, and Joe have made the best decision possible to give us a superb EVH. Can't wait to see them next.

While you can never "replace" Russ in my opinion...I, too, trust that the guys know what they're doing and have found an adequate replacement. I'm only sorry I haven't hit a show in so long and missed seeing Russ as "Eddie" over the past year. :-( **sigh** I guess sometimes life just gets in the way of music.

I have seen Lance play with the Punks twice now. I give him major props for landing the spot. Every guitarist who takes that spot is gonna have a hard act to follow. Russ had to follow Brian and Lance now has to follow Russ but once he gets used to the show more and more he will do very well as the new EVH. (Lance this is Bettina, we met last night at Whiskey) You rock man and I still support The Punks all the way.

I was at the Punk's show at POV'S in Minnesota and I to was skeptical. Lance did a good job. The more times he play the better he will get. Rome was not bulit in a day and neither was rock n roll.
ROCK ON!!!!!

Yeah keep in mind that each player that's come into the band has always been rusty. In good time we'll be wondering if Lance could ever be replaced. Hopefully we'll never have to speculate such a thing.

I actually don't live in San Diego...but I've been working there, for nearly 18 months.
So I've been to probably 90% of the shows in the last 18 months.
You'll usually find me, the bald guy on the railing over the pit...Russ "picks" on me from time to time, since he knows me. I'm usually Rob Halford...the gay lead singer who helped pave the way for Michael. Or I've been "Dr. Phil", who's there to pick up on their bitches.
My consulting assignment ends on Wednesday....so I'm done...except I am thinking of driving up to LA on Monday for one last hurrah.
Anyone want shotgun? LOL...

Oh ok I have probably seen you many times actually. I used to be in the section right by the railing above the pit, latley I've been managing to slip in to the VIP section, so now I'm usually right by the stage.
