WOO-HOO!

Scored 1 ticket (the wife can't stand DLR) to the DLR gig out here in June.

Section A, Row 2, Seat 8.

I've worked that venue many times last year, and I have *choice* seats. It's
outdoors, can seat about 3,000, and it's actually a very nice venue for
seeing a show. The worst section is "D", since it's so far back.

I just hope by then he'll have added some solo material to the ever-present
VH materrial in his set. Granted, it's not Dave back in '86 or '88, but it's
only my second time seeing him live solo, so I'm still a bit excited.

On the downside of this, I've been checking ticket sales for this gig every few hours at ticketmaster.com, and tickets are moving very slow for Dave. Section "A", where my seat is located, is the one section still available and has yet to sell out, allowing other sections to open up. It's still at, or around, rows 9 or 13.

I have a feeling there will either be:

1. Very low attendance for this show.
2. Or, the show will end up being cancelled due to lack of sales.

Too bad...like I said, it's a nice little outdoor venue.

Actually, their website says the capacity of the venue is only 1500 and the seating chart only shows 30 rows so it seems to difficult to get a bad seat.

Well, that is except for the row behind you where I am stuck [Roll Eyes]

A little publicity wouldn't hurt ticket sales... but Dave has no real website, no official mailing list, no official fan club... and this venue is not really widely known about, especially to his many LA area fans [Frown]

About an hour after the DLR tickets went on sale, I also bought a ticket to the band Chicago at the same venue, and they had a seat in the same mid section A that you mentioned for DLR (and I think Chicago is a bigger band with a larger following... I just saw them for the 6th or 7th time this Thursday night).

And yes, at Dave's recent shows (both in Florida, late last year and about 2 weeks ago) he has changed the setlist around to include a few more solo songs. I don't want to ruin any more surprises [Quiet]

Anyway, this should be a rocking good time, and I hope to see many fellow Atomic Punks fans at the show! [Thumbs Up!]

As for the 3,000 figure, I was going off the stats from a concert Billy Idol did there last year. That was a GA event, and the final night's tally was 3,000...the largest number that venue has ever seen.

There are 30 rows, but each row varies as to the actual number of seats. And, if they choose to add another section next to Section D, that obviously increases the capacity.

Also, for Albert and Elwood, I *highly* advise that you NOT attempt to bring in a camera. Viejas has an extremely strict "no camera" policy. They do have the authority to confiscate cameras, and I know the one female head of security for Viejas. She is a straight cunt (my apologies to the females here), and will even have you tossed out of the venue.

As liberal as the other venues are down here, I'm not even going to take my camera. I don't know why, Viejas just has a wild hair up their asses when it comes to cameras at the shows there. A bit of good news: if your seat is located within the first 5-10 rows, they usually allow anyone in that area who wishes to approach the stage during the last 5-10 minutes of the show, guaranteed.

Where is your seat location, Albert and Elwood?

Sect. A, Row 9, Seat 22. I thought tickets were a little expensive, including fees ,etc. We better get a 2 hour show at least!

Sorry to piss on your parade, El, but shows there normally don't run any longer than 90 minutes.

I only remember 2 shows there last year running a little past 2 hours, and 1 going for an hour and forty-five minutes, while everything else the rest of the season wasn't any more than 90 minutes. In some case, 80 minutes.
