This is totally out of the blue, but a few minutes ago I heard "Wild Thing" by Tone Loc and I swear the beginning of that song sounded just like "Jamie's Cryin'". Did Tone Loc sample this? It's been a long day at work...so maybe I am just over tired. [Sleepy]

Yes he did, sampled the guitar riff and the drum roll. Didn't ask permission, VH sued him and his record label and won.

Now that you mention it, I seem to remember seeing something about a sampling lawsuit on MTV back when they still played a few videos...Of course that could have been about Vanilla Ice or someone else.
