This is totally out of the blue, but a few minutes ago I heard "Wild Thing" by Tone Loc and I swear the beginning of that song sounded just like "Jamie's Cryin'". Did Tone Loc sample this? It's been a long day at work...so maybe I am just over tired. ![[Sleepy]](graemlins/sleep.gif)

Yes he did, sampled the guitar riff and the drum roll. Didn't ask permission, VH sued him and his record label and won.

Holy shit, I'd thought that before but didn't know that there was actually a lawsuit. Something new everyday!

Thanks for the verification, Brett. Glad to know I wasn't hallucinating. ![[Wink]](wink.gif) Now that you mention it, I seem to remember seeing something about a sampling lawsuit on MTV back when they still played a few videos...Of course that could have been about Vanilla Ice or someone else.
