Some news from Metal Sludge posted today (5/16). I hope this isn't right, but Sludge is pretty much right on with all the latest info:
***********************************************
Here is some news we were sent on the Viper Room. This might effect Metal Shop, since they play the Viper Room every Monday.

Johnny Depp is on the verge of losing his hip Hollywood nightclub The Viper Room after being charged with fraud. The actor's former business partner Anthony Fox sued Depp back in 2001, claiming the Hollywood hunk cheated him out of millions of dollars through "shady accounting and fraud." Fox alleged that Depp cheated him by hiding assets in another company and took advantage of him. Fox then mysteriously disappeared and hasn't been heard of since, but the investigation into The Viper Room's "mismanagement" continued - and now a Los Angeles judge is close to ruling in the absent Fox's favor and shutting the place down. In a statement, officials report, "Defendant Depp breached his fiduciary duties to the corporation and to Fox as a minority shareholder. The facts establish persistent and pervasive fraud and mismanagement and abuse of authority." A final ruling is expected next week and if the preliminary ruling sticks, Depp will be forced to sell up. Meanwhile, Fox's disappearance remains an open investigation."
************************************************
Could this be the end of Monday night's with Metal Shop? I hope not - but I guess only time will tell.

There was a bit about this on that Celebrity Justice show this past week. I don't know if it was a repeat or what. I'm sure they were just trying to ride the whole Pirates of the Carribean hype.

Here is the link to the "article". Johnny Depp Sued by Ex Partner I was just curious if there were any updates on this? The end of the article says that the Viper Room is pretty much going to be sold. [Frown]

IMHO, and just because this is the attitude I've taken to serious stuff in life, no news is good news, PunkPrincess. You're probably right on that show trying to ride the "Pirates of the Caribbean" wave, and refloating the story. Let's just let things flow and see where they end up. *crosses toes, because typing with crossed fingers is kinda difficult * [Big Grin]

You are right. [Big Grin]
I know this is totally going to seem random, but did you ever watch that show the Great Space Coaster? There was this one puppet named Gary Gnu. He was supposed to be a news anchor and he always said "No g-news is good g-news." When I read your post that line totally reminded me of that show!

Since I moved here 8 years ago, I must say I've never seen that show, but I think this is who you mean?

That is Gary. That is so funny! Why is it that I can remember something like that from my childhood, but can't remember where I put my car keys... [Big Grin]
