Hope it's ok to post it in this forum..

My Metal Shop Review!!!
(As posted on the MS gossip board)

The night started out FUCKED. Well Taco bell was funny actually.. we had some guys hooting at us at the drive thru, and I made comment to Vic about not even knowing what we look like.. all they can see is the back of our heads, Vic then told me that she thought the back of her head was nice, and I agreed by saying" Dude... the back of your head is Sexy as FUCK" without realizing that at that moment the lady was handing me the food, thought I was talking to her and said "Excuse me?" BAHAHA!.. I was trying not to laugh as I said "Uh, nothing" as my eyes were watering up from wanting to laugh so hard.

Ok, so this is when it gets fucked... I got directions off of expedia.. all was fine until we got into SF.. That's when we got lost.

We stopped at a gas station and asked directions.. We finally found the club but we needed a place to park... so we stop in one garage.. they inform us that they close at midnight so we couldn't park there.. so we find another lot.. park there and then come to find out that it's reserved parking.. so we go somewhere else.. This happened about 5 times.. Finally I said "Fuck it" we'll just drive until we find a garage and then we'll take a cab to the venue..

Finally we found a garage, parked, hailed a cab and got to the venue sometime past 10:30.. we though that we had missed some of the show. To our luck Metal Shop hadn't gone on yet so Vic and I mingled around and met someone else sporting a MS shirt. He was really cool and we talked for a few (Don't know if he wants his name mentioned on here so I won't) A few minutes later we lined up at the stage for Metal Shop!

From beginning to end the show fucking RULED! The Avalon Ballroom is a pretty big place with a nice big stage so they were able to move around more and do their synchronized jumps.. and gave Ginger more space to spray and fluff his massive hair (it looked great by the way Ginger, I didn't see one split end) the guys were thoroughly entertaining as they joked about Pot, wanting to fuck chicks in the butt and rapping random girls in the audience's boobs around their wieners.

At one point, I was grabbed by the hand.. Then, with the mic shoved in my face I sang the chorus to "Talk dirty to me" while Michael Diamond simulated the microphone as his wiener. Which was the highlight of my night by the way.. (I don't mean it like that though.. that sounded wrong lol)

After they rapped up the first set they talked a bit about their new CD and told the crowd that they would be back for the second half of the show. (They were selling the CDs for 10 dollars last night which was really cool!) I think that some of the people thought that the show was over so they left.
(They shouldn't have left!!!)

During the break I talked to Paulie from 107.7 (The Bone) and he was cool as hell! When he went back up onstage to introduce the second half of the show he mentioned how cool it was to see Sludge shirts in the audience!

A few minutes later the second half began.. It was just as good as the first half! At one point Michael Diamond strapped on Ginger's Bass while Ginger took over the mic and sang "Round and Round".. that's why I love these guys.. They're all so talented! Ginger sounded great! They also did a few songs that I had never heard them do before such as Van Halens "Jump". When Ralph does a Halen song I swear to God that he morphs into Roth. (Except better looking.. and he doesn't spaz out and smack himself in the head with shit).

Sometime during the second set some of the crowd thought it would be a good idea to start a mosh pit.. It might have been during a Def Leppard song.. But it was hilarious! The energy was great because everyone had a smile on their face and seemed like they were having a blast! I know that Vic and I definitely did!

So, a note to all of you going to future Metal Shop shows.. Don't leave after the first set!! They'll be back on!

I know I can't remember the full set list but what I do remember is:

- Shout at the devil
- You give love a bad name
- Here I go again
- Another thing comin
- We're not gonna take it
- Dead or alive
- I wanna rock
- Round and round
- Rock you like a hurricane
- Down Boys
- Photograph
- Nothin but a good time
- Talk dirty to me

I know there were more though..

After the show Vic and I stuck around and talked to some of the Sludgeaholics that made it. (Poopface you rock!) said our good-byes and then went upstairs to say hi to the gang..

Ralph told us that the show WILL be every week and that before there was talk about it, he didn't realize how high the ticket prices were. He was very cool but he said that he was exhausted. I told him that I was going to write a review for Sludge and he said that would be great!

We said good-bye and walked outside to hail a cab.. While some asshole hippie started taking pictures of Vic and I from behind.. If I wouldn't have been in such a good mood from the show I would have grabbed the camera and smashed him in the face with it. I'm down with taking pics if someone asks or if I know them but some asshole taking pictures of your ass when you don't even know them is fucking not cool!

We got to the parking garage had to honk the horn to wake the attendant up, once he took the ticket he put it in the machine and told us that it would be 22 dollars.. WTF!? he wouldn't let us out until we paid.

So beware.. if you go to the show it's a good idea to carpool!!

I will be going next Thursday and I hope to see even more people there.. if you don't go you're missing out on one hell of a great show.. these guys were at 100% and I'm sure that they're only going to get better! As a matter of fact.. I think I saw a bunch of balls lying on the floor as we were walking out. That's how hard they rocked. Good thing I have a vagina. (Well, last time I checked anyway)

K, I'm gonna make like a pair of big fat titties and bounce on outta here.

Hope to see you guys at future shows!

Thanks to Paul from 107.7 the bone!

And a huge thanks to "Michael", "Ratchet", "Ginger" and "Armando"
for putting on such a great show and bringing heavy metal back, dudes!

P.S. I believe cameras ARE allowed, so bring them! [Smile]

Hey, I think we tried to park at the same places. Parking in the city is a joke, (the ticket price was ridiculous too!), though after a half hour we scored a free spot a block away. SF is a freaky place, some dudes were videotaping us as we were walking to our car... scary.

I'm sure I must have seen ya, were were up fron as well....
I'll probably be there Thursday as well, coming up from the South Bay. I was the blonde chick with the leather biker hat, sang "Livin' on a Prayer" not well as I was laughing WAY to hard! My sister was the one with the black shirt w/the heart cutout on her cleavage! [Wink]
