Are Metal Skool going to be continuing their weekly gigs in LA and SD? Just curious, because the gigs stop at the end of this month on the show calendar.

If I go tonight to the Viper Room, I'll ask Russ.

Unless the webmaster at the Viper Room is hallucinating (a strong possibility, since he/she keeps on spelling "Metal SCHool" instead of "SKool"), they have them listed as playing on Monday April 5th. Same deal with Typhoon Saloon, only they list "Metal Shop" still = maybe they haven't caught on to the name change in their "wild" existences?

What songs does the Metal Shop play? I'm up here in MN and we get the Punks every other month. Great show every time!!! Everyone I know goes to see them. How do other shows vary from the one at Pov's? This might be one for AtomicBass to answer.

Metal Skool (the name recently changed from Metal Shop) is a comedy tribute to hair bands of the '80s. As such, they cover Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Warrant, Def Leppard, Poison, etc. They're hysterical to see, the covers are great, and they even put out an album of original material last year which I'm not sure if you can still get.
For pictures of Metal Shop, er, Skool, you can go HERE, as Albert keeps the most up-to-date pictures of pretty much all the projects the Punks are involved in, and also of Van Halen and David Lee Roth.

They change songs...I've seen them about 6 times now.
Off the top of my head.....
Rock You Like A Hurricane Sister Christian Down Boys Pour Some Sugar On Me Welcome To The Jungle Paradise City Here I Go Again (medley with about 10 other songs) Photograph You Got Another Thing Coming Live Wire Shout At The Devil
They wisely, steer clear of Van Halen songs.

Living in Denver, makes it hard for me to attend Metal Skool shows regularly. I visit San Diego at least twice a year and always go see them at the Typhoon Saloon. I am stoked that they are playing in Tustin on Thursday nights and hope that this engagement will at least hold till my next visit to S.C. in May. I've seen some pics from AlertR's photos and a funny video clip too, looks like a fun gig on Thursday nights. I plan on attending the show in San Diego on May 5th, and also in Tustin the next evening. Any one wanna hook up with me? I would love to meet some new friends/fans of Metal Skool.

Not really - I've seen them do "Jump" at least twice, and Russ always ribs Ralph about impersonating DLR on stage during that song. It is quite funny indeed...

Ah...well...then that's perfect..play it and make fun of him. IMO, they shouldn't be played seriously.
I've seen MS about 4 or 5 times, and never any VH tunes.

Hello Everyone!
Has anyone heard if Metal Skool has any plans to return to Las Vegas? It has been almost 3 months and there are a group of us eagerly awaiting their return.....

I hope that Metal Skool gets a gig in Vegas as soon as possible. I'm having Metal Skool withdrawls and Full Metal Jacket isn't really helping. Vegas needs you Metal Skool!
