As of April 19th., Metal Skool (formerly Metal Shop and Danger Kitty) will start playing their Monday night gig at The Roxy, next door to the Rainbow Room on the Strip. For what I hear, the place is much bigger, the bouncers are nicer and there are two (make that 2!) women's bathrooms. The announcement can be found HERE and here, if you click on April.
Congrats to the guys on the change of venue!

Cool!
I haven't been to the Roxy since the late 80's ... anybody know their camera policy off hand ?
Security's attitude and unfriendly camera policy where the 2 things I disliked the most about the Viper Room
BTW, I have links to some recent Metal Skool pictures and video clips from their Thursday Tustin shows at http://www.albertr.com/MetalSkool

Metal Skool received an equal size space to John Oates in the ad placed by the Roxy this week in the L.A. Weekly. For those interested, it's on page 111 (and they have the top left area of the ad - the most important one, for what I understand).

So,
was anyone else there last night for the baffoonary??
It was almost fitting, that Metal Skool ended at the Viper Room like that.
It was SO 80's metal.

Hey, I was just listening to knaclive.com, and I heard the DJ's mention that Metal Skool will no longer be playing at The Viper Room. They didn't say exactly what happened, but the DJ's were coming down really hard on the VR, saying how the band really got screwed over.
What the hell happened?

In a nutshell,
They were supposed to play their last VR show. The VR called the Sheriff to "block" them from coming in....Russ was "flyering" for the Roxie show.
Some imposter Metal Shop band played in their place....everyone was leaving when Russ told them they weren't playing.
That's what made the Roxie show the next week so BAD ASS.....it was packed...the Viper was deserted.

HA!
Right on! I would've loved to have been inside the VR for that Kodak moment.
Serves 'em right.
Congrats on the new gig at The Roxy, guys!

Part of me wants to go to the Viper, just to see how bad those guys are.....but then that would deny me the real deal....so I digress.
I'll probably go tonight.....to the Roxy.
