What a killer freaking show. That night was one of the best Metal Skool shows ever. I had 4 people around me, who had never seen them before, and after FL played, I gave them the Reader's Digest of what Metal Skook is like...Josh or Mark, if you read this...Rock on.

The funny part, one woman there...said I'm really tired...I'm leaving early...LOL..by the end of the show, she was in the front row. Oh the power of Russ and Ralph.

Anyway...In the middle of the set....the 3 guys from Green Day came up on stage with Ralph and played Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love. It was GREAT. The place just went freaking bananas...it was unreal.

After the song, Russ goes " Yeah....you know...when a punk band like Green Day, comes up on stage and plays fucking Van Halen, you know what dude? It means they're wearing spandex next week for sure."

Outstanding! I seriously need a Metal Skool fix. I guess I better start saving up some money for a road trip. [Smile]

I also forgot to mention that Marc Tremonti from Creed came up on stage to play guitar. The funny thing was....Marc didn't know any METAL tunes (or so it seemed).

Then some guy in the front near me....jumps up on stage and takes Russ's guitar away from Marc. He starts ripping on this song (I don't remember the name). About a minute into it (the guy could play), his guitar goes dead....LOL...Russ pulled the chord and told Ralph "He was taking his stuff home and quitting the band."

He and Ralph "made up" and plugged his stuff back in.....show goes on.

Ratchet is a better guitar player than any of those other people. He upstages the "celebrities" because he is the best. [Bouncey]

Metal Skool was awesome at The Roxy. I've seen Van H.(w/Sammy), Def L., and my favorite-Bon Jovi-three times.Well, Metal Skool was right up there with them. I couldn't of been more entertained. Ralph has B.Jovi's mannerisms down. I can't wait to see them again!!!I want to check out The Atomic Punks too.

LOL....ok, so since I was one of the 4 new people mentioned in an earlier post, I had to respond! Awesome! How funny and talented!!! What a total treat that Green Day took the stage. However, I too was bonked on the head a couple of times by the stage diving Little People! Ouch!! My niece (Rach) was the one who thought she would have to leave from fatigue. I was so glad that she and her friend changed their mind and had the "best time ever". My husband and I look forward to checking out Atomic Punks. Right on!

I flew in from Vegas(from nj) on Sunday so I could see the Skool show Monday night at the Roxy. . My friend introduced me to the punks last year(at an unreal memeorial day show @Palodino's), so I was eager to see the goods. Of course, I am a huge VH fan, so I kept bugging my friend about the chance of hearing a VH tune by Skool. He said he highly doubted it. Well, low and behold, the Green Day boys showed up( I knew they were VH fans!) and rocked it out. I also scored a copy of the Meatal shop cd AND I got to talk to Joe Lester which really completed an awesome 80's evening. Ah...if I only could of scored a handjob from that hot girl in my study hall circa 1988.
