My friend worked for Dimebag Darrell...and sent me this email...
Now everyone did the funeral ceremony thing, where Dime was burried in a Kiss Casket, and with his Black Label Colors. Edward Van Halen put the yellow and black Van Halen II guitar in his casket with him. RIP, Dime.
Finally, an Eddie story of something cool.

Wow, I remember the day the album was released. A friend of mine ran into the house with the album in his hand and said, "I use to play with these guys". He was sooo excited to see they made it. I saw them in '84. Dave was so fantastic! He did his little Karate routine to the drum solo and a strobe light. Amazing!!

Hey ken I was just wondering, did Eddie place his original "Yellow & Black" Geetar in the coffin? or was it one of his new Charvel Models? Either way, that was very cool of him to do.I know at Guitar Center in Hollywood in the glass case showcasing Eddie's geetars, they have a Yellow & Black one ,I am just wondering if thats a copy of the original? Either way May God Bless Dimebag that he may Rock In Peace now.Lotta great musicians to jam with up there.

No it wasn't his REAL Black/Yellow Charvel, it was one of the new Art Series Black and Yellow Charvels.
The one Guitar Center has is just a copy as well.
I'm sure Ed still has the real one somewhere.

It was indeed his original Black/Yellow from Van Halen II.
My friend Chad is the webmaster for Zakk.
Zakk: "He did put his original black-and-yellow guitar in the coffin with Dime"

If anyone saw Behind The Music - Pantera....My friend who was at Dime's Funeral...was dead on.
KISS KASKET 15-20 bottles of crown royal and Eddie Van Halen placing his Frankenstein from Van Halen II in the coffin.
