It's extremely sad, IMO. All that talent...and booze and cigarettes just sucking the life out of him.
VAN HALEN guitarist Eddie Van Halen attended the 14th annual Elton John Academy Awards viewing dinner and after-party in West Hollywood, California on Sunday, March 5. Check out a photo from the Associated Press/Matt Sayles.
Eddie Van Halen's wife, Valerie Bertinelli, recently filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage. The couple wed on April 11, 1981, and have one son, 14-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen. According to the divorce petition filed by Bertinelli, they separated on Oct. 15, 2001.
Van Halen, 50, is one of the most celebrated lead guitarists in rock music. He rose to fame in the late 1970s, along with his brother, drummer Alex Van Halen, vocalist David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony as members of VAN HALEN.
The group was known for wild excess both on and offstage in its early years, and Van Halen, once a heavy smoker, was treated for cancer in 2000 and 2001.

That is sad, but for alot of people life isn't as fun if they don't have booze, cigarettes, or drugs. The decision becomes--Do they want to have tons of fun or do they want to look good? It's to hard to choose.

He looks closer to Grandpa in the Munsters, than EVH from Hot For Teacher.

Kinda have to give Edward a break considering his health issues, personal issues, and his age. He certainly doesn't look like he did 30 years ago when VH 1 was coming out but I'm just glad we didn't lose him to cancer. A little dental work, some sun and a functioning band and I bet he'll be looking good again.

Wow, I can't believe that's him in that photo! He looks terrible! But, I still love the guy! He needs a day at the salon, that's for sure.
